We’re working with a well-regarded organisation seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team on a 3-month contract , with an immediate start required . There is a strong possibility this role could transition into a permanent position for the right person.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys getting into the detail, supporting month-end processes, and helping the team through a busy end-of-financial-year period.
The Role
Reporting into a supportive Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Balance sheet and bank reconciliations
- Assisting with month-end close activities
- Preparation work for end of financial year (EOFY)
- Journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Supporting audit preparation and documentation
- Assisting with accruals and prepayments
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Providing general support across the finance team as required
About You
- Prior experience in a Financial Accountant or Assistant Accountant role
- Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Able to hit the ground running and work autonomously
- Immediately available or on short notice
